Welcome

In a fast-paced construction industry, employers need trained, ready-to-work people that you can count on to be there. You are constructing more than a building, you are building a team.

Since 1994, BladeRunners has helped construction contractors fill entry-level positions with motivated young people. Employers have discovered these at-risk youth ages 15-30 will succeed if given the opportunity. With 88% Job Placement rate, 32% female participation rate, and 66% Aboriginal participation, BladeRunners is helping these youth to become valued contributing citizens of our communities.

When you hire BladeRunners youth, they arrive at work with basic safety certification and rain gear, and a willingness to work hard.

What's New at BladeRunners

BladeRunners celebrated its 15th anniversary on November 13, 2009 with a
celebration back where it all began – GM Place, Vancouver, British Columbia.
Over two hundred people from around the province were in attendance
sharing in the success of the program. Attendees included past and present
BladeRunners participants, representatives from the various service providers
who deliver the program throughout the province, representatives from
various branches of the government and friends, family, original founders and
supporters of the program. The day was capped by an announcement
from Minister George Abbott that a further $14 million in government
funding will allow expansion of the BladeRunners program into other
industrial sectors and locations throughout the province and
provide support for up to 600 future at-risk youth.
